LEGACY by Nikola Vudrag
About LEGACY
LEGACY presents a series of large-scale metal sculptures by Croatian artist Nikola Vudrag, created from thousands of welded steel rods shaped into precise, structured forms. The exhibition looks at how history, material, and craft intersect through works influenced by mythology, geometry, and cultural symbolism, showing Vudrag’s commitment to both form and intention.
Each piece reflects his interest in transformation and spiritual depth, revealing how metal can move from raw structure to expressive shape. Through this approach, LEGACY offers a contemporary view of enduring themes such as creation, faith, and identity, inviting audiences to consider how these ideas remain present in both art and human experience.
About Nikola Vudrag
Nikola Vudrag is a Croatian sculptor known for combining traditional craftsmanship with scientific and philosophical thought. Trained in Zagreb and Germany, and raised in a family of metalworkers, he developed a strong understanding of materials and construction early in his career. His sculptures are built from precisely welded rods that create intricate networks, balancing weight, tension, and movement.
Vudrag’s work draws from geometry, mathematics, and cultural archetypes, allowing him to create pieces that are both visually striking and conceptually grounded. Before focusing on large sculptures, he worked as a medallist and engraver for major European institutions, refining his attention to detail and his interest in how form carries meaning.
Our Partnership with the Artist
The collaboration between Hedonist Gallery and Nikola Vudrag grew from a shared interest in presenting work that connects craftsmanship, history, and contemporary culture. The gallery’s focus on exhibitions that carry cultural depth aligns naturally with Vudrag’s approach to material and narrative, making this partnership a coherent step in expanding his presence in the region.
LEGACY represents this alignment by bringing his sculptures to a wider audience in the UAE. The collaboration supports the introduction of his work to collectors and viewers who value both artistic skill and conceptual clarity, reinforcing the gallery’s commitment to presenting meaningful and thoughtfully curated exhibitions.
