Lost Roots, 2025

by Kimiya Hashemi

About the Artwork

Lost Roots, 2025, Kimiya Hashemi (1980). Roots are not always still.
Sometimes they move, carrying us through paths we do not fully understand.

In this work, the calligraphic forms become passages—spaces where figures walk, gather, and drift. What appears as structure is in fact a journey, where identity is shaped not by fixed origins, but by movement, memory, and displacement.

Lost roots are not gone.
They are simply searching for new ground.
